Kadalai Mittai

INGREDIENTS

Verkadalai/Peanuts: 1 Kilogram
Jaggery/Vellam: 1/2 Kilogram
Ghee: 3 tea spoons

Method of Preparation:


  1. Before going to make Kadalai Mittai, first we should dry roast peanuts for 10 to 15 minutes on low flame till it turns nutty. Please note that, if you are using roasted peanuts, be careful you should not roast more than 3 minutes. After roasting the peanuts, leave it cool for 15 minutes.
  2. Then now, take jaggery in a dense bottom Kadaai. Then pour half cup of water and mix it up. When it is liquefied, strain it through a filter.
  3. Then pour this jaggery syrup back into a Kadaai and boil it up. Then leave it in a medium flame for 10 minutes, because if you not heat if will froze.
  4. Now, turn off the stove and add peanuts in the jaggery syrup, then mix well.
  5. Now, Pour this into another plate and permit it to cool a slight.
  6. After that, grease your hand with ghee. Now take small portion of peanuts, form that into rounds or cut in to square or whatever shape you want. Arrange this in a plate. This dish is very healthy and sweaty. Store this in air tight container.
