Father of Indian Mathematics
Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar was born in 22 December 1887 in Kumbakonam,
state of TamilNadu. He was an Indian mathematician and autodidact he does not have
any formal training in pure mathematics. He made extraordinary contributions to mathematical analysis,
number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions.
Ramanujan primarily developed his own mathematical research in loneliness;
it was quickly recognized by Indian mathematicians. When his skills became
ostensible to the wider mathematical community, centered in Europe at the time,
he began a renowned partnership with the English mathematician G. H. Hardy.
He rediscovered previously known theorems in addition to producing new work.
During his short life, Ramanujan independently compiled nearly 3900 results
(mostly identities and equations). He stated results that were both original
and highly unconventional, such as the Ramanujan prime and the Ramanujan theta function,
and these have stimulated a massive amount of further research. The Ramanujan Journal,
an international publication, was launched to publish work in all areas of mathematics
influenced by his work.
Rabindranath Tagore also wrote the national anthem for Bangladesh
Rabindranath Tagore is recognized not only for writing the Indian national anthem,
Jana Gana Mana, but he wrote Bangladeshi national anthem, that is Amar Sonar Bangla, as well.
He was also offered knighthood by the British but refused the honor after the Jalianwala Bagh massacre.
And also declared that Indian national anthem is best national anthem in the earth.
