Marina Beach

The Marina beach, the pleasure of Chennai is the second longest beach in the world. Here, memorials dedicated to C.N. Annadurai and M.G. Ramachandran, both former Chief Ministers of the state. Not only memorials some of the attractive buildings in Chennai Senate House, Ice house, Madras university, Chepauk Palace etc. located on the beach drive.

Santhome Cathedral Basilica

Santhome Cathedral Basilica Santhome at the southern end of the Marina gets its name from St.Thomas, the follower of Jesus who is assumed to have come to India for a while during 52 A.D. It is assumed he was killed on St. Thomas Mount just outer surface the city in 78 AD and his remains interred in Santhome beach where a church was later built.

Fort St.George


It is founded in the year 1639 at the coastal city of Madras. This fort was completed on April 23, coinciding with St. George’s day, celebrated in honor of St. George, the patron saint of England. This fort has strong 6 meter high walls that withstood a number of assaults in the 18th century. Inside the fort there will be a St. Mary’s Church, the oldest Anglican Church in India.

The Guindy National Park


The Guindy National Park, one of the smallest National park with and area of 2.76 km, is located entirely inside the city. It has all type of reptiles, amphibians, animals; bird’s etc. following are the some of the parks which is located inside the Guindy national park.

Kapaleeshwarar Temple


It is located in Mylapore, which belongs to 8th century Pallava temple. This temple designed on the basis of Dravidian style of architecture dedicated to Lord Shiva. It also has amazing bronze idols of 63 Saivaite Saints or the Nayanmars.

St.Thomas Mount


It is a 76 meters high hill is assumed to be the place where St. Thomas was martyred. Here there is a old church, built by the Portuguese in the year 1514.

Thiruvalluvar Kottam


This is a memorial for Thiruvalluvar is shaped like a temple chariot and is in fact the replica of the temple chariot in Thiruvarur. Size of the statue is 39 meters tall chariot. The 133 chapters of his famous work for Thirukkural have been depicted in bas-relief in the front hall and corridors of the chariot
